Frogbite sind eine Shirt/Grafik-Design-Firma aus Amsterdam. Max und Danny, die Jungs von Frogbite, sind schon seit 2005 im Geschäft, und aus lauter nostalgischen Gefühlen haben sie drei Shirts designt, die von drei Herren geziert werden, die früher die holländischen Gulden-Scheine schmückten (bevor dann der Euro eingeführt wurde). Die drei niederländischen Berühmtheiten, Joost van den Vondel, Frans Hals und Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, sehen aber auch so gut aus, auch wenn sein Leben lang nur mit Euro bezahlt hat, finde ich.

Der eine oder andere Leser wird sich an Ivylice erinnern, die ich unlängst vorgestellt hatte - ein Merkmal des Labels waren die handbemalten Shirts, die damit natürlich zu Einzelstücken werden. Wer nun sehen möchte, wie bei Ivylice ein Design und später das fertige Shirt entsteht, dem sei folgendes Video empfohlen.

Goodfibres aus dem UK hatte ich ja schon mal erwähnt, nun ist Matt, einer der Köpfe hinter Goodfibres auf mich zugekommen und gefragt, was ich von Gastbloggern halte. Hatte ich noch nie - und da ich gerne Neues ausprobiere und außerdem glaube, dass es durchaus interessant sein könnte, hinter die Kulissen eines Shirt-Business zu schauen: Also, warum nicht? Außerdem tragen die Shirts dort das FairWear-Siegel, was ich ja sowieso immer gut finde. Nun denn, Vorhang auf für das Experiment & some easy-to-understand content for many of my readers as well...

We at Goodfibres have been in contact with ShirtHunters.com for a number of months now, yet have been so rude as to not introduce ourselves to all of you, so here we go. We’re Goodfibres – a community sourced design platform based in London and serving the creative needs and desires of the wider world.
We provide a web platform on which designers are encouraged to submit their designs to, these designs then go forward for the community to vote and comment on; the winning designs which are invariably the ones with the highest votes and most positive feedback, are then chosen from the plethora of talent and art that we receive to be put forward and into print.
So now we’re here on our mission to clothe the UK, Europe and the Globe with unique and cutting edge designs printed on to ethically sourced materials providing funky t-shirts that are yet to be seen elsewhere. There’s too much homogeny in the world as it is, so by allowing artists and the designers to bring their work under the public’s eyeballs gives us great pleasure.
Our commitment to designers and artists doesn’t end with bringing their work to life on ethical fabrics; we fully understand that without our fantastic community of designers at Goodfibres, there would be no Goodfibres. So bearing this in mind, and being the fair and generous community that we indeed are, every sale that is made ensures the designer receives a 10% commission rate. This is for absolutely every sale that we make of each designers work.
In addition to regular payments for successful designs; the owner / creator of each piece retains full ownership of the art, as opposed to some of the bigger sites out there (not naming any names) who when they take on your art work then become owners of that art. We don’t, it’s always yours.
So that is us in a nutshell really; we’ve the best interests of the designers and the customers in mind. Oh did I mention that we also make donations to charity for every sale that we make? I didn’t? Oh, well we do. So that’s the designer, the customer, the art world and the wider world in general that we’re working towards helping, and you know what? We love what we do!

Dogeared Clothing ist ein neues Label, das Literatur, Design und Fashion verbindet: We love books, fashion, photography, art and anything that's cool. We're also a t-shirt label.
Schön treffende Selbstbeschreibung. Aktuell gibt es drei Shirts von Dogeared, die sich von Literaturklassikern inspirieren ließen: El Ahrairah, basierend auf Watership Down, Paradox inspiriert durch Catch 22 sowie Key Tree, für das Der geheime Garten Pate stand. Sehr cool: Die Designs funktionieren & gefallen auch, wenn man die Vorlage nicht kennt. Auch schön: Von jedem verkauften Shirt (übrigens limitiert und aus Biobaumwolle) gehen 2GBP an die Volunteer Reading Help, die sich darum kümmert, Kinder ans Lesen heranzuführen. Mehr davon!

Stheart Clothing haben gestern ihre aktuelleste Kollektion herausgehauen - die Midwinter Collection. Und das bedeutet: Jede Menge neues Zeug bei den Boys und Girls. Die beiden Lookbooks zur aktuellen Kollektion gibt es hier und hier zu bewundern. Da sind schon ein paar nette Shirts dabei, wie ich finde.

Manchmal lohnt es sich, mir auf Twitter zu followen - ich schau mir nämlich jeden einzelnen Neuling an und wenn mir das Angebot gefällt, dann schreib ich meist auch darüber. So geschehen auch im Falle von Autumn Collective, eines Labels aus Ontario, Kanada. Die tollen Shirts der Kanadier werden von Hand mit wasserbasierten, umweltfreundlichen Farben bedruckt & entweder bei Etsy oder Storenvy erhältlich. Mein Favorit - der Spacebound-Fuchs (erinnert mich ein bisschen an das gute alte Star Fox).
